You can book your holiday at Low Urpeth Farm Cottages here on our website, just click the Book Now button. When you find availability for the self catering cottage you are interested in you will be able to click on the dates and choose the length of your stay.  If you prefer to book off-line then please email stay@lowurpeth.co.uk or call 077 69 67 1808 or 0191 4102901.

You will then be asked to submit a deposit payment via credit or debit card (through our PCI compliant stripe gateway). Once this is submitted and the payment accepted, the holiday cottage is booked and will show booked on our availability calendar. Shortly afterwards you will receive a confirmation email from us detailing your booking and providing you with some useful information regarding your holiday with us.

If you would rather not book online please email or call us with your enquiry and we will confirm price and availability and send an email with payment instructions to confirm your booking. Please note that your booking will not be confirmed until we have received payment of a deposit.

We require a £150 deposit when you make your booking and then the balance 2 weeks prior to your holiday. We will send an email reminder with a link to complete the payment by credit/debit card when the balance is due, so you don’t have to rely on your memory.

We do not charge any credit or debit surcharges but if you would prefer to pay by alternative means you can do so by BACS (internet transfer), please let us know by email and payment details will be sent instead.

We accept all major credit and debit cards (except American Express) at no extra cost to yourself. All payments and card transactions are tokenised in the Stripe gateway for complete PCI security using the format xxxx xxxx xxxx 1234 for your complete online safety.

You may also pay by BACS transfer but please note your booking will not be confirmed until payment has been received.

We generally do not take a damage deposit although we reserve the right to charge this in certain circumstances. We therefore ask that you respect the trust we place in you to look after your holiday cottage and the facilities whilst there.

For longer term bookings, we do take a damage deposit of £200

By making a booking you agree to accept responsibility for any damage that may be caused by you or any member of your party. We don’t mind the odd broken plate or glass, but in the event that you do notice damage or items missing in the accommodation please let us know immediately so that we can rectify matters for the next set of guests.

All our rates including bed linen, towels, electricity, heating and Wifi.  We also provide cots and highchairs free of charge. In The Bungalow you are able to request an extra child’s bed which can be supplied at an additional cost.

You are not required to have any cancellation insurance but we would recommend you purchase cancellation insurance before you book.

Unfortunately we do not allow pets. However we may let dogs in one of our cottages late 2021.  If you require details of a local kennel or cattery please let us know.

We are looking into having dogs say in one of our cottages later in 2021.

You can arrive anytime after 4pm – we always leave the keys to your self catering cottage in the Key box so you can let yourself in at whatever time you arrive. Departure time at the end of your stay is before 9.30am. We will send you the key code prior to your arrival.   Please strip the bed linen and place the linen and bed towels into the labelled black bin bags provided.

Mobile phone reception is good (currently O2, Vodafone & EE signals are good whereas Three less so). Sorry we don’t have payphones in the cottages as most people have their own mobile phones.

Broadband in our part of Durham is good but not yet super fast at present (although we are expecting fibre optic broadband later in 2021).

There is plenty of parking space outside each cottages.

Local shops, garage, post office are situated in Ouston (5 mins drive)

Supermarkets (Asda, Sainsbury, Tesco, Coop, Aldi) are between 5 and 15 minutes drive from Low Urpeth Farm. The following supermarkets will deliver to Low Urpeth Farm – Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda.

If you put the name of your self catering cottage in your booking, the drivers will deliver directly to you. Please ensure you book a delivery slot when you know you will be around to receive it.

There are washing machines and tumble dryers in each cottage. Soap powder is provided.

If notified prior to your stay, we will provide you with one complimentary disposable BBQ during your stay.

Oven, cooker, microwave, dishwasher including dishwasher tablets, washer/dryer, large fridge/freezer
