Guests are busy!

28/06/2012

What a couple of busy weeks we've had .. more to the point, our guests have been enjoying County Durham, Newcastle, Gateshead, Northumberland and Sunderland!

Beamish Museum is always popular - some guests go once but most of them explore Beamish 2, 3, 4 or even 5 times during their stay - the weather doesn't seem to put them off!  Earlier this week guests saw Dan Snow at Beamish Museum and had a photo taken of themselves with him - it made their day!

The Baltic & the Sage are relaxing and very enjoyable.  A big hit was the restaurant no. 6 at Baltic - views great and so was the atmosphere and food.  Think we will be trying that restaurant shortly too!

Durham City - walking around the city or the riverbanks and exporing Durham Cathedral. Using the Park and Ride on the A1M is very handy and the views of Durham Cathedral and Castle coming in by bus are lovely.

Sunderland's Stadium of Light popular ... that may have something to do with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band playing there!  Our guests (including an American flying over for his concert) enjoyed themselves..... so did I too!

Alnwick Castle & Gardens which are 1 hour away have been popular as well.

Guests attended a wedding in Jesmond last weekend and others attended a convention at the Newcastle Metro Arena.

It's also been busy with Durham Graduation seeing their children graduate and then celebrating at Oldfields restaurants afterwards.

Over the coming weeks we have guests going to Beamish Museum, Gateshead Stadium, visiting family and friends and another completing the Coast to Coast Cycle Route .... so far!

What a wonderful area to explore!
